Free Mind Foundry had the pleasure of hosting on November 6th, one of the 15 stages of the Master in Intellectual Property Valorization for Knowledge Exchange & Impact (KEI), a training course promoted by the Alma Mater University of Bologna and a large network of Italian academic institutions.

The value of the KEI Master and the bodies involved

The KEI Master brings together some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country - Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, Polytechnic of Turin, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, University of Catania, University of Pavia, IUSS Pavia, University of Camerino, University of Bari, University of Cagliari and University of Padua

The academic excellence of the KEI Master meets the technological hub of Free Mind Foundry

This network of excellence integrates multidisciplinary skills and solid experience in technology transfer. It was a precious opportunity for discussion with professionals active in the valorisation of research, offering them the opportunity to get to know our ecosystem up close.

An ecosystem experienced from the inside: the visit to Free Mind Foundry

The day opened at the University Incubator with speeches by Prof. Antonio Terrasi and Prof. Elita Schillaci, who presented a lucid vision on the strategic role of technology transfer and the importance of building solid connections between research, business and territory.

Following this, the participants explored key issues related to the valorisation of research and tools to support innovation. This first part created the ideal context for the next phase: total immersion in an environment that has made its identity out of innovation.

In the afternoon, the students visited the FMF Campus in Acireale, where they were welcomed by CEO Giovanni Cantarella for a dedicated tour.

Participants had the opportunity to explore the spaces and closely observe how technology companies, startups and research groups operate side by side, generating digital contamination and giving life to innovative projects in the sectors of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and software engineering.

The speech by Chiara Lo Monaco, Accounting Specialist at FMF, contributed to reporting case studies of contamination and collaboration between the digital companies operating within the campus. A story that showed how sharing spaces and expertise generates new synergies and growth opportunities every day.

Synergies that build the future of innovation

The stage of the KEI Master in Free Mind Foundry strengthened the dialogue between research, training and the world of work, highlighting the potential of Sicily as a territory capable of retaining talent and promoting quality innovation.

The experience has demonstrated the central role of places that foster collaboration, exchange of skills and shared growth, contributing to the construction of an open ecosystem, connected with the rest of the world and sustainable.
