Over the last ten years, the demand for figures with technical and IT skills has grown exponentially, going hand in hand with technological trends.

A recent research conducted by LinkedIn, the first of its kind in our country, draws up a ranking of the most requested professional roles from 2014 to 2019 and outlines an exhaustive picture of the Italian employment landscape in the near future, occupied above all by figures with digital skills.

Here is the ranking drawn up by LinkedIn Emerging Jobs Italia:

The first place in the ranking is occupied by the profession of Data Protection Officer. This figure was introduced and made mandatory by the new European Regulation on the protection of personal data (GDPR). The DPO is a professional with legal, IT, risk management and process analysis skills, who has the task of observing, evaluating and managing the processing of personal data within a company or entity, with the aim of enforcing European and national regulations on privacy.

The academic training offer is also aligning with the job market.

Unique among Sicilian universities, the University of Catania, with the collaboration of Free Mind Foundry, has activated the Master in Cybersecurity & Defense, aimed at providing skills and knowledge that can be immediately used on a professional level.
